Jeff Chimenti w/ FOG - Brokedown Palace |
Bob's TRI Studios just released a beautiful video of Brokedown Palace done by a band called FOG, with Chementi on keys. Never heard of these guys but I love this version of Brokedown and was wondering if anybody knows where I can hear more of this band. I can't much info on them. Only the following:
This eclectic group includes guitarist Brad Buethe, bassist Peter Barshay, and drummer Brian Melvin. Long-time veterans of the NYC and San Francisco jazz scenes, FOG has mastered the art of intimate musical conversation. They blend a deeply rooted feeling for jazz with influences from other musical traditions: blues, funk, gospel, reggae and rock. Their soundscapes can take on a dream-like quality as well as an intense, hard-driving feel.

Re: Jeff Chimenti w/ FOG - Brokedown Palace |
http://www.tristudios.com/After the June 28th 1991 Mile High Stadium performance we headed over to the Hyatt downtown, (where the Dead were staying) in the rather large lobby area sat a grand piano.
There was a youthful gentleman performing some nice classical chops on the keys, the front desk didn't interfere because he knew his shit and with the high ceilings and marbled floors he sounded great.
We were all still glowing from the show, the gals were just glued to this guy in complete awe of his musical expression.
This was the first time we had heard the musical talent of Jeff Chimenti.
